This Self Help section includes downloadable Self Talk Scripts that have been carefully designed to help you make or break habits. The concept is quite simple. The human brain can’t distinguish between fact and fiction. Your brain is like a computer hard drive, storing program information (software) that controls the body’s actions. Habits, whether good or bad, can be traced back to the basic software programs running in your brain. These programs have been learned over a lifetime from your parents, teachers, school mates, coworkers, and television. These underlying beliefs are not necessarily permanent, however.

If you change the programming you can change your actions. However, the little voice in our heads often sabotages our desires and we continue with the old self-destructive habits, such as smoking and over-eating To overwrite the old software, one needs to rely on several methods to install new software over the old defective programming. The best method is to use Self Talk scripts designed to fool the brain into directing new actions.

The following scripts will help you to unlearn bad habits and form new ones in their place. All you need to do is read your script out loud several times each day until the habit has been formed. The brain will then perform three simultaneous functions that help to overwrite the old programming. First, the eyes must read the words in the message; second, the brain must convert the message into speech through the vocal cords; and third, the brain must hear its own message again via the auditory nerves in the ears. These three senses help to erase the old software and install the new programming onto the brain’s hard drive, thereby leading to the desired results. It takes 21-30 days to make or break a habit, so BE PATIENT. Also, the more enthusiastically and louder you read these messages, the faster and more permanent will be the results.
